Venice and Skiing the Alps

sunny

Hey Guys sorry for the delay I've been wrapped up in a few things. So my story is about our last trip to Italy. Which by the way was fantastic. We stayed in Trento. Which was like every other Italian city. Streets as confusing (my friends found that to be hilarious) especially when we got to an intersection and there were all those blue signs. We did two days of skiing at Madonna di Campiglio. Which by the way was beautiful check out the pictures on my picasa webspace. Oh there was something awesome at the top of the mountain. When you get off the lift and ski down a bit they had lawn chairs out that oversaw the mountain range. There was also a bar which we got cappuccinos from. (Also refer to the picture it was awesome drinking coffee and just sitting there looking at this beautiful scenery. They we skied the mountain was great and we had great weather those two days. The third day we decided to drive to Venice. That was a pretty cool city. Since it wasn't summer it wasn't great but it was pretty nice. We went to San Marco and looked at the church. It was very nice. The gondolas were pretty cool, but like i said it was cold out so not much fun. They also sell masks as you know. THEY ALL SELL MASKS everyone everywhere you look masks, masks, masks. You could get them for your fridge, or your car, or you house. 4th day we went to the local castle which the pictures were also posted. Once again AWESOME. It was just a really nice trip. Hope everyone is doing well. My next post probably won't be till our next trip which is in April. April is our big month off. (They don't' do much school work here as we noticed.) That is for another story. We are visiting Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges, Cologne, and Rhineland.

Dublin

overcast

So yea Dublin best city yet! As you can see on http://picasaweb.google.com/Giovanni.Gaccione/ there is a new album with photos of me at Dublin. It was so cool.

Our journey begins at 2:00 am Saturday morning. We bus over to the airport and fly over to Dublin on a 0.01 cent flight. We land and it is beautiful. It has the same feeling Hoboken has (streets are a bit wider in Dublin) you know a bar ever 10 feet. We make it over to the "GUINNESS FACTORY"! Which by the way was the best museum tour I have ever had. As you can see in the pictures they walked us through the steps of making Guinness from how the hops are picked and how they are mixed together. I also got to start batch 2316!!!! Yes that is right I got to start a batch of Guinness about 300,000 pints of Guinness to be drank in 10 days from pressing that button. I posted the video. As we continued out tour of the facility we look a the history of Guinness and the technological advances that they made over the years. It was very interesting. I forgot to mention that as we progressed on the tour we kept going higher and higher in the building. Till the very end which is called the Gravity Bar. It is a bar at the top of the building that oversees all Dublin! Thats right a 360 degree glass bar with a complimentary pint of Guinness. IT WAS AMAZING!!!

We then went to the Jameson Distillery. It was ok we didn't go in to it, but it looked nice from the outside. lol. We spent the rest of the night in the Temple Bar area. This is where everyone hangs out at night a bunch of pub/bars. And who would have guessed it but the weekend Brian and I went there was a giant rugby game (Ireland vs Italy). Because of the game there were tons of Italians that weekend so many that I thought I was in Italy. BTW Italy won!!

Sunday we spent at Trinity College and looking at the book of Kells. That night was the super bowl. So we watched it at one of the local bars which stayed open till the end of the game. All americans it was crazy. LOL

Like I said before it was a great trip!!! Hope everyone is well. My next trip is Skiing the Alps in Trentino, Italy.

CHEERS!!!

Stonehedge & Travel to Come!

sunny 6 °C

So today I’m on my way to Stonehenge. We began our adventure at 745n.

To enlighten everyone on the past few days and the next few weeks. My first out of London is going to next Ireland. Brian and I are flying Saturday morning and returning Monday morning. We will spend one of the days at the Guinness factory (with a complementary pint). The following day we will be visiting Trinity College.

Ok so that is our weekend Ireland trip. We also have just planned our ski week. This will now be in Italy (sorry all but Switzerland was insanely expensive). We will still be skiing the Alps. We are staying in Trentino Italia. The resort or at least one of the mountains we will be visiting is Madonna di Campiglio.

Today was a great day. Stonehenge was very impressive. The rocks are so big its mind boggling how they moved them so long ago. The landscape is gorgeous as you can see on my picasa website. (here is the website again http://picasaweb.google.com/Giovanni.Gaccione/ . Plus I organized them better!)

The cathedral that you see is the Salisbury cathedral. We visited the New Forest which has a 600 year old tree and ponies. I didn’t care to much about this place. The interesting place was when I went to Lyndhurst. Yep you heard me right we went to Lyndhurst. I didn’t know we were going here until towards the end of the trip when we stopped there for some food. So now I can say I have been in the original Lyndhurst! There are some pictures up of signs and stuff.

Hope all is going well for you folks. Once again I’ll blog again probably next week when I get back from Ireland. Cheers!
